Code Of Conduct

Eagle Rock Run Club Code of Conduct

At Eagle Rock Run Club, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and safe environment for all participants. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, our club is a place for everyone to enjoy. To ensure a positive experience for all, we ask that all members adhere to the following code of conduct both online, offline and any spaces the Eagle Rock Run Club activates.

Thoughts, concerns or feedback? Feel free to fill out this anonymous form, or reach out directly

1. Respect.

  • Treat all members, volunteers, and spectators with respect and kindness, regardless of their race, age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, faith, creed, abilities, or background.
  • Refrain from using language or behavior that is discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate.

2. Safety First

  • Prioritize the safety of yourself and others at all times. Follow traffic laws, stop at red lights, be aware of your surroundings, and use appropriate caution during all runs.
  • Run within your own ability and respect the pace and skill levels of others.

3. Positive Mental Attitude

  • Encourage and support fellow runners, fostering a positive and motivating atmosphere. We all ran our first run at some point, no matter where you are in your running journey, you are welcome here.
  • Address any conflicts or misunderstandings constructively and respectfully. If you need mediation, contact Dan or Club Leadership, who can help you

4. Commitment to the Community

  • Respect the environment and community spaces by keeping them clean and free of litter.
  • Be mindful of noise levels and the impact of the group on the local community, especially during early morning or late evening runs.
  • We're a big group, so it's important to be mindful of where we park. Please make sure to park your car or vehicle in a way that doesn’t inconvenience the community around us. Since we're gathering to run, consider parking a bit further away than usual to leave closer spots available for our neighbors to park near their homes.
  • Tip your bartenders

5. Respect The Route

  • Follow all guidelines set by the club leadership, including route instructions, meeting points, and any additional safety measures.
  • All routes are set by Eagle Rock Run Club and captains for the safety and well-being of runners. Any changes must be approved by Dan.
  • The routes are posted in the week leading up to any given run. You are responsible for knowing the route ahead of time.

6. Health and Well-being

  • Take responsibility for your health and well-being. If you have any medical conditions, please inform the run leaders and take necessary precautions.
  • Stay hydrated, wear appropriate gear, and listen to your body to avoid injuries.

7. Representation of the Club

  • Remember that you are a representative of Eagle Rock Run Club during all activities, whether within the community or at external events. Conduct yourself in a manner that reflects well on yourself and the club. Operate first from a place of kindness.

By participating in the Eagle Rock Run Club, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to do so may result in appropriate actions by the club leadership, including possible suspension or removal from club activities.
